The commute is the reason. People living in Kifissia, Nea Erythraia, Politeia and Ekali tend to work in the centre or around Maroussi, and they get home late. A studio appointment means driving straight back out into the traffic they have just escaped. A visit at 21:00 or later removes that, which is why the evening is the busiest part of our day up here. Two things make the north different from the rest of Attica. The first is space: most of these are houses, so there is usually a spare room, a study or a shaded veranda that works better than any studio cubicle. In summer, verandas in Politeia and Ekali are the most requested spot of all.
